Suzanne Burkett is the author of How to Get Along with Yourself and Others: Wit and Wisdom for Natural Living, The Journey of the Raindrop and Life is a Piece of Pie in Your Eye: Slice of Life Stories.
This blog is for all Seekers of Good Stuff who make an effort to say only good stuff.
Suzanne was born and raised in the township of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, located approximately 12 miles west of Midtown Manhattan. Inspired by the peaceful lifestyle of her childhood, Suzanne set out to find her way in the world. She studied theater arts in New York City at New York Academy of Theatrical Arts. After a journey across the country she studied writing in Aspen, Colorado at Colorado Mountain College and at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada.
Suzanne wrote her first short story at the age of nine years old. Her writing has always embraced nature and spirit. For the past thirty years, Suzanne has made her home in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. She is an astute interpreter of the natural and spiritual worlds. Her work as a preschool teacher, and nature guide, has led to a life devoted to helping others explore, understand, and navigate the winding trails in life.
Suzanne has been wandering around outside since she first twisted a bar loose on her playpen and crawled out into the soft, green grass. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and insight into the mysteries of the natural world she has spent years in the wilderness listening to the voices of the abundant life there.
Her perception and keen observation is constantly fed by her unwavering curiosity. Always seeking solutions for the sadness, confusion, and struggles of everyday life, she has devoted her life to encouraging others.
Lured to the outside world whenever faced with a dilemma or serious problem Suzanne asks questions of the earth, the air, fire and water. “The elements carry messages of wisdom and relief if you are willing to ask and take the time to listen.”
Suzanne’s blog is based on her intuitive connection to the natural world. ‘Sog’ is a frog who lives in a pond near her new home in the foothills. Their conversations are as true and inspiring as earth itself.
